With a lot of the smaller houses being built I know that there would probably be other couples in the same situation looking for narrow storage units. Especially with the downsizing going on lately the last thing you want to do is go store to store locating items that would fit in the space you needed and I thought that since I needed to research my choices anyway I would also list some of the most popular storage carts that I found that may fit your needs.
The sizes of the storage carts below would be ideal for those who need something narrow, lightweight and also portable as most come with wheels. I have found these to come in both a few metal basket styles but mostly in white plastic. So choices are limited. These are great for putting cans, spices, bottled items, or produce. Anyone who is limited for kitchen space should appreciate the added storage space these storage carts provide.
First on my list and the smallest of the five narrowest rolling kitchen carts is the "Miles Kimball 3-Tier Slim Storage Cart" a sleek and stylish cart that comes in white high strength plastic this cart comes with the levels of storage. Small but very functional this will allow a nice addition of some extra storage.
DIMENSIONS: Height: 28.25" Width: 5" Length: 21"
Next is the Yontree Update Version 3-Tier Gap Storage Tower Rack. It is almost as narrow and compact as my first choice by just a small margin. While it is almost similar as the Miles Kimball you can tell that this one may not be constructed as rugged. It does offer 4 versions with two of them being 3 tier and two being 4 tier for added storage though I didn't review them as the size might be too large for the tiniest of places. They do have a handy hanging hook on the edge where you might find a handle normally which might be a benefit to some.

Yet another rolling storage cart that fits in nicely in tight spaces is the Storage Dynamics JB6032 Slide Out Storage Tower unit just up a little bigger than the first two it is also a 3 tier unit. Unlike the other first two units this one does not come with a handle or front hook area. It also looks to be of slightly lower quality than the Miles Kimball model. The different tiers look to have different depth shelves which might make it better to sort different size products on each tier.

Stepping up to a metal rolling storage cart we have the Household Essentials Slim Line 3-Tier Metal Storage Cart. With three wire baskets of the same width and depth it is a better option for storing larger items even when using it in a limited space area. I wouldn't use it for smaller items like spice jars it is great for the bigger non-refrigerated items or produce. A better option if you have a little more space due to being made with metal.

Last on my list and the largest of all these compact storage carts is the Homfa 4-Tier Gap Kitchen Storage Cart. This storage cart comes as a 4 tier cart and features fine mesh shelving that is able to hold both small and large items that you would need to store. Being made of heavier metal construction it can hold heavier items so it makes a nice trade off for function and space saving design. Unfortunately due to it's larger design it may not fit in the narrowest spaces.

I thought finding the narrowest rolling kitchen carts wouldn't be too hard to find but comparing the different sizes became a little time consuming as most sites don't allow searching by actual sizes. Some products made it even hard to find their correct sizes to be able to compare between the available styles. I spent hours searching for this information so my wife could find the best fit for the space she had to work with and I hope it helps others who may be searching for some additional space in their kitchen. On a side note these could also be useful in tight laundry rooms or bathrooms.
